Dominican Baseball Card #21: Luis Castillo

The Dominican Baseball Guy has another San Pedro de Macoris native for the Dominican Baseball Card #21, Luis Castillo.  The card is a 2010 Topps #394: great shot on front, shiny on front and back with nice design, and the back has his full statistics for 10 plus years in the big leagues.
Luis started his major league career in 1997 with the Florida Marlins where he was the starting second baseman at the age of 21.  He has been the everyday second basemen for the Marlins, Twins, and is now with the Mets.  He won a World Series with that 1997 Marlins team, though he did not play in the playoffs due to injury.  And he was one of the only holdovers for the 2003 Marlins that also won the World Series.

Luis had a 35 game hit streak in 2002 and has gone to 3 All Star games along with 3 Gold Gloves.  Luis will be with the Mets next year (he is in a position battle).  He is from San Pedro de Macoris, DR.
