Major League Baseball hosts symposium in the Dominican Republic

Major League Baseball hosted a symposium this week in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  The symposium was co-hosted by MLB and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development.  The conference featured a range of speakers including government employees, and representatives from the league and several teams.  It focused on issues such as improving education for prospects and other ways to make prospects more successful.

The Dominican Baseball Guy was invited to attend, but was not able to make it.  Here is the press release:

WHAT:     Major League Baseball and the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FundaciĆ³n Global Democracia y Desarrollo) [FUNGLODE] will host a symposium called “Goals and Challenges of MLB in the Dominican Republic.”
          The symposium will include many members of the various parties of the Dominican baseball establishment, including such officials from Major League Baseball as Executive Vice President, Labor Relations & Human Resources Rob Manfred; Executive Vice President, Administration & Chief Information Officer John McHale, Jr.; and Head of Latin American Oversight Jorge Perez-Diaz; as well as New York Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson.
WHEN:     March 14th, 7:00pm–9:00pm  March 15th, 9:00am–5:00pm
