Virginia baseball players travel for games in Dominican Republic, peloteros americanos viajan para jugar en la Republica Dominicana

Two Virginia high school standouts were picked to join a team traveling to the Dominican Republic for series of games against Dominican competition.  The team is led by Michigan State head coach Jake Boss Jr.  They will travel to the Dominican Republic for several games as well as a series of workouts led by Coach Boss.

The team is sponsored by a Baseball without Borders program and the two Virginia players will partially fund their trip through a grant from the Dave Matthews Band's Bamaworks Fund.  Baseball without Borders is a global non-profit that works to evangelize the game in countries where the sport is underdeveloped.

Baseball without Borders is one of many baseball focused charities that do work in the Dominican Republic.  See the tag below for more on Dominican baseball charities, and please visit Baseball Without Borders.
