In the Dominican Republic, even the Dominican women are huge fans of baseball. It is a phenomena not seen in many places. Think of American women. Not many are hardcore football fans. The only place I have heard comparable to the Dominican women baseball fans is the women in Brazil, who are super knowledgeable of their Brazilian soccer.
As you know, there are Dominican baseball dancers at most of the Dominican Winter League games, but there are also tons of women in the stands. And one of those Dominican woman baseball fans likes the Dominican Baseball Guy. She sent me some photos:

Dominican baseball dancers: Bailarinas de Estrellas Orientales
For the first time on the Dominican Baseball Guy blog, I have for you the dancers of the Estrellas de San Pedro de Macoris. Now the dancers from Licey and Escogido in Santo Domingo, and even the Aguilas in Santiago are employed throughout the whole season. The other three teams have to import dancers from the other big cities, and they may only have the budget to employ the Dominican baseball dancers for late in the season or just the playoffs. So, do not expect dancer at every baseball game in the Dominican Republic, but they should be at most.
This video is not as clear the footage of the Dominican baseball dancers from Licey, but you get the gist of what it means to have dancers at a baseball game. Think the ring girls and girls dancing outside the ring at boxing matches and MMA events. They are closer to that than they are to American football cheerleaders.

Dominican model Glenny Rosado
The Dominican Baseball Guy really has no idea who Glenny Rosado is, but every once in a while even the Dominican Baseball Guy needs a break from blogging about baseball in the Dominican Republic.
She does not even have a wikipedia page. She does have a Glenny Rosado Facebook page, but it does not have any more information, although it does have a few more photos. It appears that she is a promotional model and maybe some print.
The Facebook page says she is from El Seibo, Dominican Republic, which is just outside San Pedro de Macoris. If anyone knows anything else about this Dominican model, please leave a comment. Enjoy the pics of this Dominican model.

Dominican Cheerleaders, Bailarinas de Licey
It is time for one of the Dominican Baseball Guy's most popular updates, Dominican Cheerleaders.
So, the first Dominican cheerleader updates featured cheerleaders from Escogido. Just so you know that every team has cheerleaders, today's update will feature a couple videos of the Licey cheerleaders performing during a game. Funny thing is these videos look like they were filmed by a player, or at least someone in the dugout.

Dominican Baseball Dancers, Bailarinas de Gigantes
The Dominican Baseball Guy missed the monthly post on Dominican Baseball team dancers, which usually comes on the 1st of the month. However, the Caribbean Series was going on, so the Dominican Baseball Guy was posting on all the goings on in the championship of winter baseball. See all the Caribbean Series posts.
So far, the Dominican Baseball Guy has posted on cheerleaders from Escogido, Licey, and Aguilas (see the tags below). So, this week here is a photo of the Gigantes dancers. Even the youngest team in the league from the smallest city with a team (San Francisco de Macoris) has dancers.
Thanks to El Dia for the photo and story.

Dominican Baseball Cheerleaders, Bailarinas Dominicanas de Aguilas
Happy New Year from the Dominican Baseball Guy, and being that it is the 1st of the month, the Dominican Baseball Guy is adding his monthly update with Dominican Baseball Cheerleaders. Thus far the Dominican Baseball Guy has featured cheerleaders from Escogido and Licey, so for this month the Dominican Baseball Guy has a picture of cheerleaders from the Aguilas de Santiago.
As you can see in the photo, this one comes from http://www.mendyenfigureo.com/. He has lots of great pictures of Dominican Baseball Cheerleaders, so check out his site if you want to see more. But for now, just enjoy the Dominican Baseball Guy's most recent post on Dominican Baseball Cheerleaders.

Dominican Baseball Cheerleaders, Bailarinas Dominicanas
It is that time of the month again, meaning it is the 1st of the month, and meaning this is when the Dominican Baseball Guy blogs about one of the most important aspects of the Dominican Winter Baseball League: the cheerleaders.
Friend of the Dominican Baseball Guy, Greg Manuel, sent me this article from bustedcoverage.com. It is actually just the pictures taken from an article from Dominican website http://www.imagenesdominicanas.com. Here is the original article and another one from a few days before. Both articles discuss the cheerleaders for the Santo Domingo team Escogido.
As the Dominican Baseball Guy's last post on the cheerleaders said, many Dominicans were very upset that Escogido had Venezuelan, not Dominican, cheerleaders last year. Well, according to the articles from imagenesdominicana.com, other teams have hired foreign dancers this year, even though their owners and fans criticized Escogido for hiring foreign dancers last year. Escogido, for their part, have hired three Dominican cheerleaders/dancers this year.
Anyone know the score in the game last night? Probably not, but they saw the cheerleaders:

Chicas Dominicanas, Dominican Winter Baseball League Cheerleaders
OK, so the Dominican Baseball Guy has been inspired by the great Night Owl Cards. This is one of the most popular and followed blogs out there, not just among the baseball card blogs, but among any blog. Night Owl recently did a post entitled Image is Everything. So his premise was that people visit his site to see expensive cards, pictures of pretty girls, and pop culture things.
The Dominican Baseball Guy thinks there is an unexploited niche for Dominican girls. So, in an effort to drive some more traffic to the blog, the Dominican Baseball Guy is going to be posting pictures of Dominican women, i.e. chicas dominicanas, on the first of every month. Seems like a good way to start the month, and maybe it will bring in some more views and get people interested in Dominican Baseball, which is the main purpose of this blog anyway.
And since this is the Dominican Baseball Guy, there will be a lot of posts in this monthly feature on Dominican Winter League cheerleaders. They get on top of the dug out in between innings, and it is pretty much like bringing the night club on to the top of the home team dugout.
The Dominican Baseball Guy posted last October about the cheerleaders from Escogido being Venezuelan. The Listin Diario felt this was more important than the recap of the game on this day. It was seen as a horrible sin in the eyes of Dominican baseball purists. MLB purists complain about the 3 divisions, but Dominicans have their priorities, and the cheerleaders in the winter league should be Dominican. So, with out further ado, here is the Dominican Baseball Guy's first picture of some Dominican ladies, the Escogido cheerleaders from last year:
